We are seeking an experienced Head of Airfreight to lead our operations in Chicago. This role is pivotal in supporting and executing the airfreight strategy, providing operational expertise, and overseeing all air freight-related activities at the station level. The Head of Airfreight will ensure the seamless and cost-effective management of the airfreight process, meeting customer requirements and optimizing transactional operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage all air freight operations, including strategy and service quality for the Chicago station (ORD).
Supervise the air import and export operational teams.
Drive process improvements locally and ensure compliance with global improvement initiatives and procedures.
Support business development through operational expertise, ensuring customer requirements are met. Develop and implement new sector-specific solutions and services.
Oversee spot quote pricing strategy and ensure adherence to KPIs, focusing on timely responses to customer requests.
Ensure compliance with pricing guidelines and the effective use of tools and resources.
Optimize cargo management with air and cartage vendors.
Ensure station and gateway compliance with global/regional airfreight policies, guidelines, and customer SOPs.
Meet or exceed customer KPIs and expectations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external key suppliers.
Act as the subject matter expert for specialized products, such as Pharma/Perishable.

Skills / Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in air freight operations, including handling, documentation, and clearance processes.
Proficiency in air freight management systems and operational tools.
Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and intermediate-level Excel expertise.
Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
Ability to influence decisions and actions at both local and country levels.
Critical thinking, creativity, and innovation in solving complex strategic challenges.
