On behalf of a leading global provider of logistics and supply chain solutions, WCL is searching for a Country Manager to oversee operations in Spain. This renowned organization specializes in airfreight, ocean freight, and cross-docking services, delivering innovative and efficient transportation solutions for businesses worldwide. The position involves managing two branch offices located in Madrid and Barcelona, with responsibility for a team of approximately 20 employees. The successful candidate will hold full P&L accountability, report directly to the Vice President Europe, and play a pivotal role in driving growth and operational success in this strategic market.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement business strategies to achieve the company’s objectives, align operations with global goals, and lead the country management team.
P&L Management: Oversee financial performance for both branches, ensuring profitability and alignment with corporate targets.
Team Management: Motivate, lead, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, and innovation.
Operational Excellence: Optimize processes to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
Client Relations: Represent the company with key clients and stakeholders, strengthening relationships and market presence.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to regulations and proactively manage operational risks.
Reporting and Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, assess competitor activity, and provide actionable insights for growth and improvement.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a senior management role within the logistics or forwarding industry.
Strong financial management skills and understanding of Spanish labor laws.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making capabilities.
Fluency in English and Spanish (additional languages are advantageous).
Familiarity with airfreight, ocean freight, and cross-dock operations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead teams and manage client relationships.
A hands-on, adaptable leadership style aligned with ethical and future-focused practices.
Work Conditions
